After a two-hour train journey we were happy to arrive in Bruges. We walked to the “Lake of Love” and Christina gave us some information about the former harbour. Then we went to the Beguinage. Several nuns were walking around the garden. Some houses date back to 1245. We had to keep off the grass.
The next interesting building was “ Our Lady’s Church”. It hosts a “pieta” by Michel Angelo.
On our way to the city centre we walked past the Almshouses.
Once we arrived on the burg ( borough in old English) we had some free time to have lunch. While we were doing shopping Thomas and Ahmed played on the X-box. We met again at 1.30 pm and visited the cathedral of the Holy Blood. It was difficult to keep silent while we were visiting the church. We then walked past the fish market and headed to the Groeninge Museum. Thomas and Alessandro had prepared talks about famous Flemish painters: Van Eyck, Breughel and Bosch. The paintings were beautiful and the details were amazingly realistic.
After the visit we had to rush back to the train station and jump into the train to Liège.
The train journey was funny although the train was packed at that time of the day.

“The “Quick” was delicious.
The town was very nice.
The weather was icy but bright.
We had great time together.
We could meet outside school.
We learnt a lot of things about Bruges.
Bruges is a town for pedestrians and cyclists.
The atmosphere was very good.
We will visit this town again for sure.”
