Dans le cadre du "renforcement langues"
Voici le récit : Our trip to Ghent
On Friday March 23rd at 8.17 a.m., we took the train to Ghent from Visé station.
At around 10.30 a.m. we arrived at Ghent Saint Peter.
The sky was clouded but it wasn't raining. We took the tram to the City centre
which is easily recognisable by the Belfry. This tower was built in 1313 and
it was completed in 1380. It symbolizes the autonomy of the city. It is 91
meters high. It was designed by Jan Van Hoelst. On the top of the tower, there
is a golden dragon.
Then we walked to Saint Bavo's cathedral which hosts the very famous "
Adoration of the Mystic Lamb" painted by Jan and Hubert van Eyck in 1432.
This triptych is a masterpiece of the Flemish oil painting.
At lunchtime, we went to Mc Donald's ( as usual...).
At 1.30 p.m. we met again and walked along the canals to the “Gravensteen castle” or the “Counts’ Castle”. We felt really impressed by the exhibition of torture instruments.
We walked through the commercial centre and took the tram
back to the station.
It was time to travel back to Visé.
On the train, we played cards, listened to music, chatted and laughed a lot
!!
